Who wouldn’t be cheered up by a cuddle from a sweet little goat?

Elderly care home residents were treated to just that – a visit from pygmy goats.

Baby goats have stolen the hearts of those they visited as part of a festive visit.

Some of the elderly residents even asked to keep the goats as Christmas presents.

The six animals sat on the laps of elderly pensioners who treated them to cuddles and affection.

Some goats, being just three weeks old, were wrapped up in tiny blankets to keep them warm during their visit last week in Bocking, Essex.

Joan Green, 95, said: ‘They are wonderful, they were so warm and cuddly.

‘I wanted to keep one, I would love one for Christmas!’

The goats were from the Blackwater Alpacas and Pygmy Goats in Braintree, Essex.

Julia Clinton, chief executive, said: ‘Our residents and team loved the chance to cuddle the goats.

‘They were so gentle and friendly. It really brought some Christmas joy.’
