American rap superstar Doja Cat has announced she has tested positive for Covid.

The 25-year-old took to Instagram to share the news, as well as the cancellation of her remaining Jingle Ball performances.

The Kiss Me More hitmaker previously shared that several members of her team had tested positive for the virus, forcing her to pull out of the Jingle Ball shows in New York City and Boston, as she was practising ‘appropriate safety measurements and necessary precautions.’

Since then, the star tested positive herself, revealing that her ‘spirits are down’ but she’s ‘looking forward to recovering.’

In a statement posted on social media, she wrote: ‘Unfortunately, I’m sad to share that I just tested positive as well and will no longer be able to perform on the rest of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.’

‘While my spirits are down since I can’t be there to celebrate the holiday with my fans in Philly, DC, Atlanta and Miami, I’m doing ok and look forward to recovering and getting back out there as soon as I can,’ she continued.

Doja concluded: ‘The rest of the tour stops have some really great lineups, wish I could be there. Much love XO,’ followed by a sad face emoji.

She later tweeted that her remedy is now ‘turmeric ginger water sleep repeat x500.’

Fans flooded her comments section with ‘get well soon’ wishes, and were particularly devastated for the Woman songstress as this is her second time contracting the virus.

Doja said she had Covid in July 2020, shortly after mocking the pandemic.

‘I got Covid,’ she said in a video interview with Capital XTRA.

‘Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates [a food delivery service], and I don’t know how I got it but I got it. I’m ok now. It was a four-day symptom freak-out but I’m fine now.’

So far this month, Doja took to the stage for three Jingle Ball shows, as well as the Poptopia concert in San Jose, California.

She continued to delight fans with her hits, including Need to Know, Juicy, Kiss Me More and Tia Tamera, as well as Scoop, which is a collaboration with Lil Nas X.

Fans will still enjoy a star-studded line-up despite the rapper’s absence from the upcoming concerts, as Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Ed Sheeran, the Jonas Brothers and Saweetie will perform on the rest of the Jingle Ball tour.

This certainly won’t be how the Say So singer planned to end 2021, however, she’s had quite the busy and successful career.

After her single blew up on TikTok during lockdown, she hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in September, and was nominated for eight Grammy awards this past November.
