A person electrocuted himself and triggered an enormous energy outage when he by chance drilled by way of a mains electrical energy cable below his backyard.

The DIY accident triggered a serious emergency response with two air ambulances despatched to the scene.

The person was drilling into the bottom outdoors his home in Swindon, Wiltshire at round 9.40am yesterday when he struck the cable.

He's understood to have suffered a cardiac arrest because of sustaining an enormous electrical shock.
