Two courageous ladies jumped into ice-cold water to rescue a poor dolphin caught between rocks.

Amy Walker, 42, Carrie Warrior, 57, and Sarah Gale, 62, have been having fun with their annual Christmas stroll on the seaside in Hastings, East Sussex, after they noticed seagulls hovering within the distance and a fox.

Trying nearer, the group noticed the distressed animal trapped in a rock gulley close to the shore.

Amy, a TV producer, threw her coat to Sarah and immediately dashed into the water, with Carrie shortly following.

They then spent greater than 20 minutes wrestling with the present, worrying that they'd not be capable of free the dolphin, while Sarah watched on nervously.

‘It was fairly robust going as a result of the ocean was tough and we couldn't get a certain footing on the seabed due to the rocks,’ Amy mentioned.

‘The tide was coming in so we have been getting knocked over and having to select one another up, in addition to making an attempt to not stress the dolphin much more.
