After a weekend of wild weather in Toronto with a taste of “thundersnow,” Environment Canada is once again calling for snow this week.

The city is still digging out and working to clean up the roads from last Friday’s overnight storm, which accumulated from 20 to 30 centimetres of snow.

Toronto declared a major snowstorm condition on Saturday, prohibiting cars from parking on certain routes for 72 hours during snow clearing operations, which are set to begin on Monday.

In a statement, the City said snow removal will begin after rush hour on Danforth Avenue and Bloor Street, as well as bridges.

The City also said that warming centres at Scarborough Civic Centre, Mitchell Field Community Centre and Cecil Community Centre closed to new admissions on Saturday, while the one on Metro Hall is open for new clients.
