The House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot has issued 10 new subpoenas for Trump officials including former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany and senior adviser Stephen Miller.

‘The Select Committee wants to learn every detail of what went on in the White House on January 6th and in the days beforehand,’ committee chairman Bennie Thompson stated on Tuesday.

‘We need to know precisely what role the former President and his aides played in efforts to stop the counting of the electoral votes and if they were in touch with anyone outside the White House attempting to overturn the outcome of the election.’

Thompson added that the 10 witnesses have ‘relevant information’ into the committee’s probe into the deadly insurrection.

The select committee targeted McEnany because she was with Trump for parts of the day on January 6 and also pushed false claims about election fraud as the White House press secretary.

Meanwhile, Miller is being called because he ‘by his own account participated in efforts to spread false information about alleged voter fraud in the November 2020 election’, according to the committee. Miller was also alongside then-President Donald Trump at a morning rally on January 6 in which he urged his followers to fight the election results.

Other Trump officials subject to the new subpoenas are deputy chief of staff Chris Liddell, personnel director John McEntee and Keith Kellogg, who was Vice President Mike Pence’s national security adviser.

The committee has also subpoenaed Trump’s former personal assistant Nicholas Luna, Oval Office Operations Coordinator Molly Michael and Ben Williamson, who served White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

The 10 subpoenas come a day after the committee issued subpoenas for six Trump allies, including former national security adviser Michael Flynn and senior campaign adviser Jason Miller.

In all, the committee has now issued more at least 35 subpoenas.
