Dramatic photos present the charred stays of a US helicopter after a counterterrorism mission focused the chief of the Islamic State militant group.

Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi died by exploding a bomb that killed himself and members of his household as US forces approached.

The helicopter was deserted after struggling a mechanical drawback and was later destroyed in a US air strike.

Birds-eye photos present it in items following the blast in northwestern Syria on Thursday morning.

A minimum of 13 folks had been left useless together with six kids and 4 girls. All People concerned within the operation returned safely.

It was the biggest raid on Idlib province because the 2019 US assault concentrating on the Islamic State chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

President Joe Biden mentioned in an announcement that he ordered the raid to ‘defend the American folks and our allies, and make the world a safer place’.

‘Due to the talent and bravado of our armed forces, now we have taken off the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi – the chief of Isis’, the US chief mentioned in an announcement.

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby added: ‘The mission was profitable. There have been no US casualties.’

The Observatory mentioned the troops landed in helicopters. Residents and activists described witnessing a big floor assault, with US forces utilizing megaphones urging girls and youngsters to go away the realm.

Omar Saleh, a close-by resident, mentioned he was asleep when his doorways and home windows began to rattle to the sound of low-flying plane at 1.10am native time.

He ran to open the home windows with the lights off, and noticed three helicopters. He then heard a person, talking Arabic with an Iraqi or Saudi accent by a loudspeaker, urging girls to give up or depart the realm.

‘This went on for 45 minutes. There was no response. Then the machine gunfire erupted’ Mr Saleh mentioned. He mentioned the firing continued for 2 hours, as plane circled low over the realm.
