A lioness killed a zookeeper whereas he was feeding lunch in Iran, studies say.

The feminine then escaped along with her male accomplice and prowled across the zoo for just a few hours.

Each animals have been later captured after a mixed operation by police and guard.

The incident on Sunday left a 40-year-old guard lifeless round lower than 150 miles southwest of Tehran.

He was recognized solely by his household identify Esfandani and is claimed to have been placing meat by a feeding window when the 2 lions managed to open their cage.

An unnamed zoo worker in within the metropolis of Arak, Markazi province, defined that the 2 animals then escaped.

He informed state broadcaster IRIB: ‘The lioness, which has been within the zoo for a number of years, managed to open a door of the cage, get out after which assault the 40-year-old guard who had simply introduced meals to the pair of felines’.

Each animal have been then recaptured alive, the state information company IRNA quoted the governor of the province as saying.

Amir Hadi stated: ‘Instantly after the incident, safety forces took management of the zoo.

‘Efforts to seize the 2 felines alive have been profitable’.

Authorities are investigating the case.

Such incidents are uncommon in Iran and world wide and are sometimes blamed on poor security measures and insufficient emergency companies.
