Massive fire rips through Michigan’s historic Oakland Hills Country Club

An enormous fireplace ripped by the historic Oakland Hills Nation Membership in Michigan on Thursday, engulfing many of the clubhouse.

The blaze broke out mid-morning and destroyed many of the 110,000-square-foot clubhouse. Firefighters used aerial ladders to shoot water on the clubhouse roof at 2pm, as smoke billowed for miles south. The fireplace gave the impression to be contained by the early afternoon, however the full extent of damages was not instantly identified.

The century-old facility in Bloomfield Township has hosted main golf championships and was set to welcome huge tournaments within the years to come back.

No accidents have been reported, as an official with the membership emailed members informing them that ‘everybody bought out OK’, in line with The Detroit Information.

Oakland County Govt David Coulter mentioned he was grateful that nobody was injured.
