Mark See, 34, denies murdering his 63-year-old mom Sandra See on the bungalow they shared in Gorton, Better Manchester, and is predicted to say it was a ‘horrible accident’.

He drove away from the home minutes after the blaze broke out, and was discovered curled up within the foetal place in a churchyard the subsequent day, a courtroom heard.

Prosecutors allege he had a six pint milk carton used to retailer petrol for a lawnmower.

Shortly after, Ms Hughes heard raised voices and started to really feel warmth, earlier than seeing flames and black smoke.

Mr See had ‘important’ burns to his fingers and ft when he was discovered and informed an officer he ‘did it within the hearth’ at his mom’s.

He made no remark when interviewed by police.

An investigation into the reason for the fireplace decided it had ‘most likely began on account of deliberate ignition’ utilizing petrol.
