A lady aged 18 has died after she was hit by a bus within the centre of Portsmouth yesterday.

The crash occurred close to Gunwharf Quays, a purchasing advanced well-known for its designer shops.

Police mentioned the teenage pedestrian was pronounced useless on the scene after the crash at round 10.30pm in St George’s Street.

A passerby informed native paper The Information they'd seen a bunch of greater than seven ‘distraught’ younger folks ready outdoors the police cordon.

‘They had been hugging one another; a few of them had been crying,’ they mentioned.

‘It appeared like some dad and mom got here to select them up.

‘It was upsetting to see them so upset.’

A Hampshire police spokesman mentioned: ‘We had been known as to the scene at 10.30pm final night time following a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.

‘The pedestrian, an 18-year-old girl from Gosport, was pronounced useless on the scene.

‘Her subsequent of kin have been made conscious.’

The spokesman mentioned the street was closed for a number of hours following the crash for police to analyze the scene.

He appealed for anybody with sprint cam footage to come back ahead.
