High winds and heavy rain forecast this weekend ahead of 18°C scorcher

Winds of as much as 70mph will tear by Britain this weekend earlier than balmy climate returns.

Many loved long-overdue sunshine yesterday as temperatures have been hotter within the UK than in Athens.
