Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll slammed for ‘racist’ Tyler Perry joke on The One Show

The TV star appeared on the BBC programme alongside Tyler after the pair starred collectively in new Netflix comedy A Madea Homecoming.

After talking about their time on the set, The One Present presenters Lauren Laverne and Harry Judd put the query to Brendan as as to whether Tyler may ever visitor star on Mrs Brown’s Boys.

Brendan replied: ‘He’s very costly, and up to now we haven’t had anybody of his color in there,’ whereas gesturing to his personal face.

‘So I don’t know if we may have him in however… I’d love that, however extra importantly, I’d like to do one other film with him.’

Tyler, who started laughing as Brendan made the remark, repeated the phrases again to him, saying: ‘No person my color,’ as Brendan gestured to his face once more.

Tyler laughed it off, including: ‘Range guidelines!’

Nonetheless, the joke didn't go down effectively on social media, with reactions from commentators labelling the remark from ‘cringe’ to downright ‘racist’.

‘Brendan Carol simply made a racist comment on the one present and never one individual known as him out. Disgrace on you BBC (sic)’ one outraged viewer stated.

Brendan has a cameo as Mrs Brown in Tyler’s new movie, which brings his famed alter-ego Madea -based on the star’s aunt and mom – out of retirement.

The movie focuses on the chaos that goes down at Madea’s great-grandson’s school commencement celebration.
