They are saying heroes don’t put on capes – and this was the case with one unimaginable man who saved somewhat boy from drowning in a swimming pool.

Tom Westerhaus, from Lawrence in Kansas, jumped into motion to avoid wasting four-year-old Xavier’s life and carried out CPR on him for almost three minutes.

Tom’s personal son Maddox, 12, alerted his dad Xavier had fallen into the pool after enjoying with him. And regardless of not being CPR educated for 15 years, this didn't cease Tom leaping into motion on the proper second.

Today, we recapped the events of that call in hopes of raising awareness of water safety in advance of the holiday weekend. A 12-year-old boy noticed a toddler floating in the pool and alerted his father. The man jumped the locked fence, pulled the unresponsive toddler from the pool, and administered life-saving aid. For his or her heroic actions, Tom and Maddox have been given Hometown Hero awards on behalf of the Lawrence Fireplace Medical Division.

The hearth division shared the heroic actions of the dad within the hopes of elevating consciousness about emergency conditions involving life and loss of life. 

Xavier has since made a full restoration from the incident.
