Amber Heard ‘doesn’t blame’ jury for siding with Johnny Depp in trial as she sits down for first TV interview

Amber Heard is about for her first TV interview after the decision in her trial towards Johnny Depp.

The Aquaman actress stated she doesn’t consider the illustration of the trial on social media has been ‘honest’, after Depp gained the defamation case following a prolonged courtroom battle.

The total one-hour interview will air on June 17 on NBC’s Immediately Present, as Heard sits down with interviewer Savannah Guthrie, as per NBC Information.

A spokesperson for Heard added in an announcement: ‘Johnny Depp’s authorized crew blanketed the media for days after the decision with quite a few statements and interviews on tv, and Depp himself did the identical on social media.

‘Ms. Heard merely supposed to reply to what they aggressively did final week; she did so by expressing her ideas and emotions, a lot of which she was not allowed to do on the witness stand.’

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was awarded a complete of $15million (£12m) in compensatory and punitive damages after a jury discovered Heard did defame him in a 2018 article she wrote about her home abuse expertise.

Depp, 58, initially filed the lawsuit suing his ex-wife for $50m (£40m), however Heard then counter-sued for $100m (£80m). 

With the decision in his favour, the jury agreed to award the actor $10m (£7m) in compensatory damages and an additional $5m (£3.9m) in punitive damages. 

Nonetheless, the punitive damages have been capped at $350,000 (£279k) per Virginia state regulation. Heard herself was additionally awarded $2m (£1.6m) in compensatory damages, due to this fact lowering Depp’s whole to $8.35m (£6.7m). 

After the explosive six-week trial wrapped up, Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft revealed that the Aquaman actress couldn’t afford to pay the damages, and is now planning on submitting an enchantment.
