Brad Pitt has claimed that former spouse Angelina Jolie intentionally “sought to inflict hurt on” him by promoting her share of their wine firm to a rival investor.
First reported by DailyMail.com, Pitt has filed authorized papers with Los Angeles County Superior Court docket as a part of a long-running authorized dispute between the pair over Chateau Miraval, positioned in south-east France, which the pair acquired in 2008 earlier than their marriage in 2014.
After the couple divorced in 2019, Jolie was cleared to promote her share in 2021 for $164m (£131.2m) earlier than their wider monetary settlement was finalised. Nonetheless, Pitt began authorized motion to attempt to retain a majority share within the firm that owns the property.
Pitt says that Jolie is promoting her share to Tenute del Mondo, a wine-making firm “not directly owned and managed by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group” and which is “bent on taking management of Miraval”.
The authorized doc provides: “Jolie pursued after which consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely preserving Pitt in the dead of night, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.”
