Children hide under desks after knife-wielding gang runs into school grounds

Kids had been compelled to cover underneath their desks when a gaggle allegedly carrying a knife ran onto the grounds of their college.

Armed police swarmed North Birmingham Academy in the course of the tense incident at 9.30am this morning.

Three youngsters had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a blade.

One mother or father advised Birmingham Stay that children as younger as 11 had been ordered to take a seat on the ground of their lecture rooms as the positioning went into lockdown.

There have been no studies of accidents and pupils returned to their classes after.

A spokesperson for E-ACT, which runs the Academy, mentioned: ‘Following an incident locally, earlier as we speak NBA went into lockdown according to the academy’s procedures.

‘The police had been in attendance and the problem was resolved shortly. 

‘Due to the fast response of our workers in managing the state of affairs, no college students had been in danger, and the conventional day resumed shortly with college students returning to their classes.’

A spokeswoman for the police power mentioned: ‘We had been known as to studies of three younger males seen with a knife in Warren Highway, Kingstanding, Birmingham, at simply earlier than 9.30am as we speak (Tuesday).

‘Officers attended and as we searched the world among the younger males bumped into the grounds of North Birmingham Academy in School Highway.’

An investigation has been launched and the three suspects remained in police custody this afternoon.
