Man dices with death and slips onto his backside at top of 120ft cliff

A warning has been issued by the coastguard after footage of a person virtually falling to his demise got here to gentle.

A video exhibits the second the unidentified man misplaced his footing as he made his approach alongside the slender chalk formation generally known as Outdated Harry Rocks, close to Swanage, Dorset.

Touchdown on his bottom, he slid down a grassy financial institution – with a terrifying 120ft drop both facet of him.

Tragedy was averted when the person obtained to his ft and scrambled uphill to hitch his pals.

He walked together with his arms out to maintain his steadiness following the tense incident.

The footage was caught on digital camera by Callum Howlett, who was in a kayak in Swanage Bay on the time.

Callum mentioned: ‘He would have fallen off had he not stopped sliding down.’

It was then shared by the Swanage Coastguard who cautioned copycats, saying ‘please please please, don't take the chance, it’s not value it’.

A spokesman mentioned: ‘While out on an exquisite morning kayak round Outdated Harry Rocks, this video was captured. It very practically ended badly for this particular person.

‘Coastguard groups, the coastguard helicopter, lifeboats, ambulance and police all would have been tasked to this if it had gone horribly incorrect.’
