One killed and another injured in skydiving plane crash in San Diego

A lady has died and a person has been severely injured following a skydiving aircraft crash.

The only-engine Cessna Caravan crashed at about 1.50pm yesterday near Oceanside airport, in San Diego.

The aircraft, which was being utilized by the skydiving firm GoJump Oceanside, is known to have been approaching the airport for touchdown when it crashed.

The person and girl have been the one folks on board the aircraft on the time of the incident.

Each needed to be free of the wreckage by firefighters who used hydraulic gear to chop them free, Oceanside Fireplace Division Battalion chief Justin Klopfenstein stated in a information launch.

They have been rushed to hospital however the girl was later pronounced lifeless.

The identities of the victims haven't been launched by authorities.

In a press release, the Federal Aviation Administration instructed ABC 10News: ‘A single-engine Cessna 208B crashed whereas the pilot was attempting to land at Oceanside Municipal Airport in Oceanside, California round 2 p.m. native time at present.

‘Two folks have been on board. The FAA and Nationwide Transportation Security Board will examine.

‘The NTSB will likely be in command of the investigation and can present extra updates.’

Based on flight-tracking knowledge the plane was on its seventh journey of the day when it crashed.

The Cessna 208 Caravan took off from Oceanside at 1.31pm on Friday and was as a consequence of land at 1.47pm.

Yesterday’s crash is the second time a skydiving aircraft has crashed whereas trying to land at Oceanside airport in simply over three months.

In February, two folks have been injured when a Cessna 208B crashed in the identical space.
