Sam Fender apologises after sharing photo with ‘hero’ Johnny Depp: ‘It was a poor choice of words and timing’

Sam Fender has apologised to followers after he referred to as Johnny Depp his ‘hero’ amid the actor’s court docket case with ex-wife Amber Heard.

The singer, 28, had taken to his Instagram story to share a snap of him in a pub with Johnny, 58, and Jeff Beck, 77, after a verdict was reached discovering him victorious in his defamation case with Amber, 36. 

Sam had taken a selfie with the celebs, on which he wrote: ‘Some critical heroes’. 

The singer confronted backlash for the picture and swiftly deleted it, with some followers not agreeing with the decision of the case. 

He took to his Instagram story on Saturday to handle the picture, writing: ‘I need to apologise. I used to be invited to briefly meet a musical legend and an actor who has been in virtually each movie I’ve watched rising up.

‘I went – we chatted music and with out considering I took a photograph and posted it because it was fairly surreal.

The picture had come after Johnny had flown to the UK forward of the decision being introduced and has been performing reveals with Jeff on his tour. 

He emerged victorious after suing his ex-wife for defamation and was awarded $10million (£8million) in compensatory damages, and an additional $5million (£4million) in punitive damages, whereas Amber gained one in all her three defamation countersuit claims, and was awarded $2million (£1.6million).
