Cocktail of the week: Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Richard Jones’ Murder on the Dancefloor – recipe

Effectively, it was solely a matter of time earlier than we gave this title to one among our house cocktails. Blood-red and made with a exceptional colour-changing gin, it’s now a fixture on our drinks board.

Homicide on the Dancefloor

Serves 2

100ml good-quality gin – we use Pink Marmalade, for its wonderful, colour-changing properties
Juice of ½ lemon or lime
100ml
cranberry juice
1
tsp agave syrup – you might want a little bit extra, relying on the sweetness of the cranberry juice
2 lavender sprigs, to garnish (elective)

Fill a few martini glasses with ice and put aside to sit back. Put loads of ice in a cocktail shaker and throw in all of the liquids. Pop on the lid and shake vigorously for 20 seconds – give it your all.

Throw out the ice out of your now very chilly glasses and pressure the cocktail evenly into them. Prime every with a lavender sprig, if you happen to like, and drink instantly.
