The disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has launched appeals towards her conviction and sentence for intercourse trafficking younger ladies.
The 60-year-old was sentenced to twenty years in jail final month after being discovered responsible by jury of luring younger ladies into therapeutic massage rooms to be abused by former financier Jeffrey Epstein between 1994 and 2004.
Maxwell’s defence attorneys had indicated they might be interesting towards the conviction after it emerged one of many jurors in her trial had did not disclose he had been sexually abused.
However in a written ruling, Choose Alison Nathan stated the jury’s responsible verdicts had been ‘readily supported’ by witness testimony and documentary proof as Maxwell’s bid to overturn the conviction was dismissed.

Prosecutors described Maxwell as ‘harmful’ throughout her three week trial, as jurors learnt how she used to lure the younger ladies to Epstein for him to sexually abuse them.
Choose Nathan went on to say it was necessary that though ‘Epstein was central to this scheme’ she was not being sentenced ‘as a proxy’ for him.
She stated: ‘The defendant’s conduct… was heinous and predatory.
‘Ms Maxwell labored with Epstein to pick younger victims who had been susceptible and performed a pivotal function in facilitating sexual abuse.’
Maxwell has been imprisoned since July 2020.
