
A miner believed to have died in an explosion has miraculously been rescued one week later.
Leonid Moiseev, 49, was amongst 190 miners trapped underground after two tremors collapsed an enormous rock on the Raspadskaya coal mine in Russia’s distant Kemerovo area.
All however two have been evacuated, with native stories then claiming the married stepfather had died.
However a number of days later, rescuers picked up a sign from the miner’s sensor.
They dug by 50 metres of collapsed rocks to search out him alive. Fortunately, he was trapped in a chamber with a air flow shaft, which means he had air.
The opposite miner was discovered lifeless.
