Ant and Dec pay tribute to Darius Campbell Danesh after Pop Idol star’s death: ‘We had many laughs with him’

Campbell Danesh’s loss of life was confirmed on Tuesday by his household, after he was discovered ‘unresponsive’ on August 11 at his US residence in Rochester, Minnesota.

The pair shared a press release on their joint Twitter account on Wednesday morning, recalling the enjoyable that they had with him throughout his time on singing contest. 

They penned: ‘We're very sorry to listen to of the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh at such a tragically younger age. 

‘We had many laughs with him on his Pop Idol journey. Our hearts exit to his beautiful household. #RIP.’ 

He then appeared on the primary sequence of Pop Idol in 2002, which was received by Will Younger, performing songs together with Atomic Kitten’s Entire Once more.

Campbell Danesh’s debut single, Colourblind, was launched in 2002 and shot straight to primary within the UK. He went on to launch his debut album, Dive In.
