One of many former police detectives indicted in a federal probe into the loss of life of black paramedic Breonna Taylor is ready to plead responsible.
Former Louisville Metro Police Division (LMPD) Detective Kelly Goodlett was charged on August 4 for conspiracy.
Goodlett’s responsible plea would be the first conviction in relation to Taylor’s loss of life.
In keeping with the Justice Division, Goodlett, together with fellow LMPD police detective Joshua Jaynes, ‘took steps to cowl up’ their actions by ‘falsifying an investigative doc’.
In keeping with the indictment, Goodlett and Jaynes met after work hours a number of days after Taylor’s loss of life and deliberate their coverup in Jaynes’ storage.

Police had been investigating Jamarcus Glover, Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, for drug costs, and claimed that Glover was sending packages to Taylor’s house.
The affidavit ‘verified that the goal of the alleged drug trafficking operation had obtained packages at Ms. Taylor’s tackle,’ Garland mentioned. ‘Actually, defendants Jaynes and Goodlett knew that was not true.’
Two different former LMPD officers had been charged after the federal investigation – Kyle Meaney and Brett Hankison.
Goodlett is ready to plea responsible at a listening to on August 22. She was launched after paying her $10,000 bond.
