JK Rowling and Nicola Sturgeon among those paying tribute to Dame Hilary Mantel following death of Wolf Hall author aged 70: ‘One of the greatest novelists of our time’

Tributes have come pouring in for the late Dame Hilary Mantel following the information that the author has died on the age of 70.

The acclaimed novelist, who wrote novels together with Wolf Corridor and Deliver Up The Our bodies, is claimed to have died ‘all of the sudden but peacefully’ whereas surrounded by her shut family and friends, HarperCollins introduced.

In a message revealed in honour of the late Booker Prize winner, the publishing firm wrote: ‘We're heartbroken on the demise of our beloved creator, Dame Hilary Mantel, and our ideas are together with her family and friends, particularly her husband, Gerald. It is a devastating loss and we will solely be grateful she left us with such a powerful physique of labor.’
