
A 12-year-old boy has suffered critical burns after being set on hearth by males asking if he ‘wished to see a magic trick’.
Two hooded males approached the younger boy and his good friend in Bancroft Park in Blackpool between 8pm and 9pm on Tuesday.
They set hearth to the sufferer’s t-shirt with a cigarette lighter after asking him: ‘Do you need to see a magic trick?’
A witness stopped to assist and shortly took the boy, who suffered burns throughout his torso, to hospital.
Police at the moment are interesting to anybody who might need witnessed the ‘horrific assault’ to return ahead with data.
The primary suspect is described as tall, with a black hoodie, black masks, black trousers with pockets and leather-based gloves.
The second man is described as carrying fingerless gloves with a black hoodie and black jogging bottoms.
Detective inspector Kirsty Wyatt, of Blackpool CID, mentioned: ‘This was a horrific assault on a younger boy and he has suffered some actually vital burn accidents which can want ongoing hospital therapy.
‘I might enchantment to anybody who noticed something suspicious within the space at across the time of the assault to return ahead and communicate to us.
‘We can have additional patrols within the space over the approaching days and I might urge anybody with data or issues to talk to an officer.’
