Nazareth’s ex frontman Dan McCafferty dies aged 76: ‘The world has lost one of the greatest singers’

Dan McCafferty has died aged 76, his former Nazareth bandmate Pete Agnew has confirmed. 

The Scottish singer had been the entrance man of the arduous rock band from its begin in 1968 till 2013, when he retired from touring as a result of in poor health well being. 

Agnew had shared the information of McCafferty’s dying on the band’s official Fb web page, telling followers: ‘Dan died at 12:40 at this time.

McCafferty was born in Dunfermline, Scotland and have become one of many founding members of Nazareth, touring with the band for 45 years and showing on all of their albums till 2014. 

Impressed by the likes of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Little Richard, McCafferty co-wrote a few of Nazareth’s largest hits together with Dangerous Dangerous Boy and Damaged Down Angel, in addition to releasing three solo albums.

The band had introduced McCafferty’s retirement from touring in August 2013, as a result of well being points.
