A 5-year-old boy drowned in a pool at his house as members of the family had been celebrating New Yr’s Day.
The household was holding a New Yr’s celebration when the boy discovered his approach to the pool, in response to investigators.
His mom found him unresponsive within the pool, in response to KHOU 11. She carried out CPR on him and he was airlifted to a hospital however died on the Life Flight, sheriff’s deputies stated.
‘The kid was pronounced deceased,’ stated Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez on Twitter.
The drowning occurred round 8pm on Smokey River Drive close to Keith Harrow Boulevard in Katy, Texas.
Deputies stated the boy’s mom was watching him within the kitchen when he wandered off. A number of members of the family had been house when the boy went into the pool.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Katy is about 30 miles west of Houston.
