Couple ‘poisoned unborn baby to trigger miscarriage and disposed of body’

Two individuals have been charged with forcibly triggering a miscarriage and disposing of the physique of a child.

Elliot Benham and Sophie Harvey, each 23, have been arrested following property searches that happened greater than two years in the past.

They're charged with ‘procuring a poison/noxious factor to trigger a miscarriage’, concealing the start of a kid and disposing of a child’s physique.

It's believed the offences happened between September 1, 2018 and December 1, 2018.

The pair’s arrests comply with a protracted investigation by Gloucestershire police’s Main Crime Investigation Workforce.

Benham, of Swindon in Wiltshire, and Harvey, of Cirencester in Gloucestershire, will each seem at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Courtroom on January 5.
