March 8th recap: The Red Wings and Blackhawks exploded for seven goals, while Lukas Dostal did just enough to limit the Canucks to a one-goal victory over the Anaheim Ducks. However, Elias Pettersson did have two points on Vancouver’s three goals.

Tyson Barrie over 2.5 SOG (+100, DraftKings) Wager: 1 unit to win 1 unit
Since coming over to Nashville in the Mattias Ekholm deal with Edmonton, Tyson Barrie has been bombing from the point. In three games, Barrie has 14 shot attempts and 10 shots on goal. In his last two games, he’s registered five and four shots, respectively.
The Predators will get a good matchup tonight when they head to Arizona. The Coyotes have allowed an average of 71.2 shot attempts over their last 10 games, which is the second-worst mark in the NHL.
I expect Barrie to blast shots on Arizona’s goal early and often.
Pavel Buchnevich over 2.5 SOG (+140, Unibet) Wager: 1 unit to win 1.4 units
Buchnevich has quietly been on a massive tear of late in St. Louis. The winger has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his last eight games, with 21 shots on goal on 31 attempts.
The Blues don’t have much to play for these days after trading away Ryan O’Reilly to Toronto and Vladimir Tarasenko to New York, but Buchnevich still seems to have some fight left in him.
St. Louis hosts San Jose tonight, who have just two wins in their last 10 games.
Buchnevich has been playing over 19 minutes per game lately, so he should be out on the ice plenty in this one.
Alec Martinez over 2.5 blocked shots (+100, DraftKings) Wager: 1 unit to win 1 unit
We go from one guy who has been taking a lot of shots to another who has literally been taking a lot of shots.
Vegas defenceman Alec Martinez has been a human wall lately, averaging 3.5 shot blocks per game over his last 10.
In his previous seven games, here are his shot block totals: five, one, six, five, four, four and seven.
The Golden Knights are in Tampa Bay tonight, facing off against a Lightning team averaging 34.8 shots in their last 10 home games.
Martinez will be skating on the top defence pair with Alex Pietrangelo, so he should get plenty of opportunity in this one to hit the over.
