I used to question this premier’s adequacy for the second most challenging job in Canada, but Doug Ford is as canny as he is brazen when it comes to looking out for his own and his family’s interests.
It’s important not to let this man get away with anything, and we saw in the U.S. how much constant pressure on Donald Trump tied him up enough to limit the damage he could do.
Newly minted NDP leader Marit Stiles is showing great promise as someone who cannot only skewer Ford when he missteps, but can do so in plain-spoken language that lukewarm Ford supporters might relate to.
Ford already cut Toronto City Council in half, and lately he pronounced that it would be disastrous for the city if it chose a left-wing mayor.
I think he means disastrous for him and his self-interested agenda.
