Aside from all of the issues and costs cited by Richard Warnica, the companies will not be paying to recycle what they put out in the way of packaging.
We, the public and consumer will be paying for it at the cash register as the companies tack on recycle fees to purchases. This amounts to an added tax.
Will the cities refund these fees? Not likely.
Will the cities reduce our property tax to make up for the new recycling fees? Again, not likely.
But wait, there is more: Watch, all those companies that were supposed to be responsible for the trash they produce will figure out a way to make it profitable, now that they have introduced and slid in a user fees.
