What it is: A new “love potion” from Elie Saab that features notes of orris, neroli, mandarin and warm amber.

Billed as a women’s fragrance, the newly launched elixir was created by perfumers Aurelien Guichard and Jérôme di Marino. The amber-floral fragrance features top notes of neroli from Lebanon and Italian mandarin, middle notes of iris flower, and base notes of amberwood, myrrh and benzoin.

Designed to capture “sensuality” in olfactory form, according to the brand, the “intoxicating floral scent” also boasts elements of warm vanilla and musk.

What we say: This new fragrance release from Elie Saab has a nearly universal appeal thanks to its mix of soft florals and sweeter notes.

Our tester found the sweeter elements of amber and musk played most prominently on her skin. The long-wearing scent has a seasonless appeal, she reports, providing a pretty, warm-floral mix that’s perfect for day- or nightwear, all year round.

Alluring without being overboard — not too sweet or too floral, but with a nice, balanced mix — our tester found this fragrance delivered on its alluring, sultry claims.

Where to get it: Shoppers Drug Mart, shoppersdrugmart.ca.
