A hearty seven-game slate in the NHL gives us plenty of parlay fodder.
The pregame narrative: The New Jersey Devils have already lost twice to the Tampa Bay Lightning this week, but we’re expecting a bounce-back performance. The Nashville Predators are playing some strong hockey, and we’re targeting them as an underdog against the New York Rangers. Lastly, the Anaheim Ducks are a solid pick to beat the Vancouver Canucks.

NHL parlay picks
Parlay: Devils +1.5 + Predators +2.5 + Ducks moneyline (+323)
Devils +1.5 (-220): It’s been a rough week for New Jersey, but we’re expecting the squad to close it out with a strong effort.
The Devils have lost three consecutive games, with two of those coming to the Lightning earlier this week. They dropped the first meeting 4-1 before falling 4-3 via shootout in the second outing.
The underlying numbers suggest the team’s playing well, however, despite the poor results. New Jersey owns a better expected goals percentage (54.32% to 49.98%) and team save percentage (.913 to .901) than Tampa Bay across the last seven days, according to Natural Stat Trick.
The Devils are also on the road, which is oddly a positive for the squad. They’re an NHL-best 25-5-4 on the road this season.
Other parlay picks
Predators +2.5 (-265): Nashville is competing hard, which is all the team really needs to do to cover this number.
The Predators have won three of their last five games and have covered as a 2.5-goal underdog in 14 of their last 15 outings.
They’re facing a New York team that has won three consecutive games, but it’s difficult to gauge just how impressive those victories were. The Rangers scored two victories over the slumping Pittsburgh Penguins and one over the unimpressive Washington Capitals.
Both the Rangers and Predators played on Saturday and so did their starting netminders. That means we’ll likely get a backup goaltending duel featuring Kevin Lankinen and Jaroslav Halak. That certainly benefits the Preds as Lankinen is 5-1-0 over his last six appearances with a sterling .939 save percentage. Halak is 0-2-2 in his last five outings with a rough .883 save percentage.
Ducks moneyline (+110): Anaheim is playing some respectable hockey at home and is a good underdog pick.
The Ducks are 3-1-2 in their last six at Honda Center. That may not seem like much, but it’s a positive for a squad sitting among the league’s basement dwellers.
The Canucks are playing well with six wins across their last seven outings, but the biggest reason for their success will likely be riding the bench. Thatcher Demko has been exceptional since returning from injury, posting a 6-2-0 record with a .927 save percentage.
He started on Saturday, however, which likely thrusts Collin Delia into the crease. His .876 save percentage this year is anything but encouraging.
