Adam Scott Lions advance to bronze medal game at OFSAA AA boys basketball championships

The No. 2 Adam Scott Lions from Peterborough have advanced to the bronze medal game at the OFSAA AA boys basketball championships in Windsor.

The Lions poured on 29 points in the fourth quarter but could not overcome a deficit and fell 81-72 to No. 3 seed St. Joan of Arc in the semifinals on Wednesday morning. Ethan Brown led the scoring with 24 points.

The Lions now face the No. 5 seed St. Ignatius in the bronze medal game at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. St. Ignatius nearly upset the No. 1 seed St. Francis in their semifinal but St. Francis staged a fourth quarter comeback to win 77-69 Wednesday morning.

Adam Scott went 3-0 to open the tournament, starting play on Monday by thumping No. 20 seed Ascension of the Lord from Mississauga 79-35. Brown led the scoring with 24 points.

On Tuesday the Lions defeated the 15th seed St. Mary from Hamilton 73-57. Carson Burns was the leading scorer with 30 points

The Lions then snapped a 40-40 tie after three quarters against No. 10 seed Holy Trinity from Courtice on Tuesday night for a 60-49 win in the quarter-finals. Brown led the scoring with 16 points.
