There are 12 NHL games on Thursday and plenty of prop betting options.
The pregame narrative: David Pastrnak is one of the NHL’s premier shooters and a good pick to usurp his shot total. Alex Pietrangelo is providing a steady stream of offence from the blue line, making him a nice plus-money pick to notch a point. Lastly, we’re taking the over on Jared McCann’s shot prop.

NHL prop picks
Best Bet: Pastrnak over 4.5 shots (-143)
This is a high total and a decent amount of juice to pay, but there are plenty of reasons to feel good about backing Pastrnak.
For starters, this line doesn’t require the Boston Bruins sniper to do more than he usually does. Pastrnak is averaging 4.76 shots per game this year, actually putting this mark below his season-long mean.
Secondly, recent performances aren’t a concern as he has 23 shots in his last four outings.
He’s also staring down a juicy matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs are allowing the fourth-most shots per game in the NHL (34.1) this season and aren’t getting any better. They’re allowing 38.7 shots per contest in their last three outings.
The Canadiens will likely be down another rearguard as Chris Wideman didn't participate in the morning skate.
Pastrnak should also have a little extra motivation to shoot the puck on Thursday as he’s two goals away from 50.
Key stat: Pastrnak has five-plus shots in each of his last four games.
Quick picks
Pietrangelo to score 1+ point (+130): Pietrangelo is demonstrating some offensive touch in recent outings, notching 11 points across his last seven games. He has at least one point in six of those contests, producing at a very reliable rate.
He and the Vegas Golden Knights visit the Calgary Flames, a team that can’t keep the puck out of their own net. The Flames have allowed 15 goals across their last three contests and own the fourth-worst save percentage (.837) in the NHL over the last seven days.
McCann over 2.5 shots (-139): This line is right near McCann’s season-long average (2.49), but there are a couple of factors that make the over the right call. The first is his recent production. McCann has usurped this total in nine of his last 10 contests.
The matchup is enticing, too, as the Seattle Kraken face the Nashville Predators. The Preds are surrendering the sixth-most shots on goal per game (33.2) this season.
