Clarke then responded by denying the allegations, and stated: ‘In a 20-year profession, I've put inclusivity and variety on the forefront of my work and by no means had a criticism made in opposition to me. In March 2021, the Metropolitan Police introduced it had dropped its investigation into sexual harassment allegations in opposition to Clarke. 

He was accused of sexual misconduct on the set of BBC sequence Physician Who, during which he starred between 2005 and 2010. 

Clarke denied the allegations, saying: ‘I vehemently deny any sexual misconduct or legal wrongdoing.’
